"Alright, ma'am. I'll come back with your meal in a jiffy!" You said as convincingly happy as possible to your customer, before you walked away to the kitchen to wait. You pushed open the kitchen door and leaned against the nearest wall, letting out a long, drawn out sigh. "Fuuuuck...." You curse, turning your head to look at the clock that was on the farthest wall. "And I still have four fucking hours left to be here... Why does the world hate me so much?" You mumble to yourself, closing your eyes and rubbing your pointer and your thumb against the skin on your nose that was normally covered by your glasses.

"You know, talking to yourself is a good way to convince your co-workers that you're losing your mind. You okay over there?" You hear a voice say from your left, and you don't even have to look to tell that it was John.

"Yeah, I'm fine Johnny. Just tired is all."

"If you say so. Tell me if you need anything," He opened the door to walk out but paused, "and stop calling me Johnny!"

"No way, Johnny!" You giggled, watching him try not to laugh with you, rolling his eyes, and going back to serve one of his tables. You take one last moment of peace, before grabbing the large black circular tray with the woman and her family's food on it, and walking back out into the serving area. You put the smile back on your face, an stride back over to the table. You place the many plates of food in front of the family, and asked them if they needed anything else, and to your pleasure, they said no, so you walk away to another table. At that table was a girl you had met out of the restaurant, though she is a regular here as well. You'd met at the aquarium she works at, and you'd had lunch with her quite a few times before, her name is...Feferi you believe.

On the other hand though, you didn't know the guy she was sitting with. He had what looked like three-dimensional glasses perched on his face, and he was frowning while Feferi talking cheerfully to him. You walked over with an actual smile this time, "Hey, Fef."

"[Name]! I didn't know you worked here!" She exclaimed, getting up from her seat to bring you into a hug, which you calmly returned.

"Well, that's because I didn't tell you."

She rolled her eyes at your attitude that never seemed to leave, and continued, "[Name], this is Sollux, my matesprit." The so called matesprit looked up at you and grunted a greeting, before moving his eyes back to the table, a look of annoyance on his face.

"Nice prick of a boyfriend you got there. The fuck's his deal?" You said loudly, making sure he'd hear it. Because it was only five, the place was pretty empty, so you weren't too worried about one of the other customers hearing you. You could manage to not get a tip from some of the tables. They will probably either leave or ignore you anyway. He looks back at you with a glare and a scowl,

"My deal is none of your fucking buthinethth." You return the glare full strength, narrowing your eyes back at him.

"You're right. It's none of my fucking business. But still, there's no reason to be a prick when I didn't even say anything to you in the first place." You glare at him one more time, before shifting your gaze back to meet Feferi's shocked one. She grabbed your arm with a sigh and pulled you away from the table, far enough so he probably couldn't hear what she had to say. She thoughtlessly ran her hand through her long black hair, pushing it behind her large fin of an ear, a pout on her face.

"Sorry about him. He didn't get any glubbing sleep for the past few days because of his cod-ing.." She frowned.

"It's alright, it takes a lot more than that piss me off." You smile, making her frown turn back into a smile.

She happily brought you into another hug, "I missed you sooo much, [Name]."

"I missed you too, Fef." You grin, but your moment was suddenly put to an end when the chime of a bell sounded, and the front door opened, signaling that another customer had entered. You walk Feferi back to her table, and turn to make eye contact with John, to see if he wanted this one. His hands were full, and he looked like he was struggling to serve the gigantic family gathering he and Dave were serving. You give him a nod and walk to the front, where the person was standing, to greet them with a friendly hello and a smile. "Table or booth, sir?"

"Table, please." He had an accent, one which you couldn't quite place. His voice just sounded very.. velvety, and fancy.

You grabbed a menu from behind the small front desk, "Follow me." and walked over to a table nearest to the top left corner of the dining area, "Is this table alright?"

"Yes, thanks." He sat down, and you placed the menu in front of him. He opened the menu and took a few moments to gaze, while you looked over him. His outfit was very strange looking, with striped pants and scarf, zig-zagged candy corn horns, along with a black sweater and a purple streak in the middle of his hair. His face held a large pair of glasses, a scowl, fin ears, and a pair of deep purple eyes that danced along as he read the menu. He was attractive, to say the least, and the fact that his voice was so alluring definitely didn't help your situation.

You snapped out of your stare to ask, "How about I start you off with a drink?"

"Do ya' havve coffee?"

"Yes, sir, we do."

A small smirk lifted his right cheek, "Make it black."

"Coming right up!" You said, before rushing into the kitchen once again, trying to conceal your blush in your hand. "Coffee!" You call over the counter.

"On it!" You fan your face with one hand and hide it with the other, trying to cool your cheeks before you had to take the coffee back out to that guy.

"God, [Name]. You alright?"

"No."

"What's wrong?"

"He's so hot." You hear him let out a snicker, and you glare at him through your fingers.

"Who is?"

"The guy I'm waiting on."

"Do you want me to take him instead?, I-"

"No, no, no... I can do it." You said, taking one more deep breath. "It's fine, Johnny."

"Stop calling me that!" Just then, Dave entered the room as well, hearing John's shout.

"What's wrong, Johnny?"

"Fuck you guys."

You giggle, grabbing the coffee mug from the counter that the cook had left, and heading back out. You walk back over to his table, sitting the mug down in front of him, him mumbling a thanks, before taking a sip. You cringed, "Don't you want some sugar, or milk for that?"

"Sugar is for the wweak."

"Have you ever actually had coffee before?"

"No." His cringe surfaced, as he stuck out his tongue in disgust.

"I'll be right back." You chuckled, thinking it was cute that he had been trying to be cool. You grabbed some milk and sugar from the kitchen and came back to see him sitting with his arms folded over his chest as he pouted, clearly angry that his attempt to be cool had failed horribly. You sit them both on the table, "Here you go." with a smile, also finding his pout cute. You turned to walk away, but just as you were about, he stopped you.

"Wwait!" He paused, and you turned back to see his cheeks flushing slightly, as he taped is two index fingers together nervously. "Can you do it?" Your confused glance changed to one of a grin, as you grabbed the milk, pouring some in, and then the sugar, until it was a nice caramel color.

"There. Try it now, if you will." And he did as asked, bringing the mug to his slightly chapped lips, and taking a long sip, before putting it back down with a sigh of content.

"Wwoww.. That's delicious."

"Heh, yeah. I love coffee."

He raised the cup toward you, "Wwant some?"

"No, thank you. I'm not allowed; I'm working."

"Wwhat I asked you to sit and talk to me? The customer is alwways right, right?"

"Right." You laugh, with a small smile. You hesitantly sat down across from him, loving the feeling of your feet not touching the hard ground for a while. "God damn, does it feel good to sit."

"I suppose it wwould, givven you're on your feet all day. So what's your name?"

"Oh, I'm [Name]. And you?"

"Ampora," He held his hand out for you to shake, which you did, "Eridan Ampora."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Ampora."

"Please, call me Eridan."

"Okay, Eridan. Why do you keep breaking eye contact with me to look at Feferi?"

His eyes widened in shock, before he lowered his head a bit in shame, "Sorry.. She's just... a part of my past is all.."

"Let me guess. You had a crush on her, and then that Sollux guy took her before you got the chance?"

"Is it that obvious?" You nodded.

"Well, that Sollux guy is a douche bag if you ask me." He raised a brow, "Feferi is a friend of mine, and she introduced me to him a while ago, and he acted like a total prick, for no reason at all. So, he's obviously bad news." You finish, just when you hear the front door chime, this time what looked like a party group entering. You mumbled a curse, before looking back at him with a frown. "I have to go, but, I get off in around an hour. Can you wait, please?" You asked, your cheeks brightening again.

"Shore."

"Yes! Okay, see you soon then." And with that, you speed walked over to the group, greeting them and walking them to another table. Soon enough, the entire restaurant was full of people, and it sounded like an elementary school cafeteria in here. You hadn't even gotten a chance to go back to Eridan's table before your shift was over. You looked up at the clock in the dining room, seeing that it was finally time to leave, and practically sprinted to the back to grab your jacket and things, clocking out, and going back to the table he had been sitting at, to see him no longer there. You frown in sadness. I guess I wasn't worth the wait..  You thought, walking out of the restaurant with your head down in anger and shame. You were halfway across the parking lot when you hear a voice behind you.

"Wwhat, are ya' just going ta' leavve me?" You spun around to see him smirking down at you from where he stood, hands shoved in his pant pockets.

You let out a sigh of relief, "I thought you got tired of waiting.."

"Nah, come on, let's go." He smiled, pulling your arm toward a bright purple, old fashioned car, that you assume was his, and opening the passenger's side for you to get in.

He began to drive to wherever, you weren't concerned to be honest. You didn't care where you were going, as long as you got to spend more time with him. "You knoww," He started, "You didn't need ta' add that sugar ta' my coffee."

"What do you mean? Why wouldn't it need sugar?"

He smirked at you from the corner of his eyes for a second, "You're so swweet, there wwas no point in addin' any sugar..."

".....Wow, that was bad."

"Shit!"

...

( Alternate Ending: He hopped in on his side, and reached into the back seat to get what looked like a wand, before his eye brows furred with anger. He pointed the wand toward where you sat, and began to yell, as the wand shinned with magic, "NEVER GET INTO A CAR WITH A STRANGER."

And with that, you died, all because you talked to an attractive stranger.

Nice fucking job, reader. )

The ending made me think of old 90's cartoons were they tried telling you not to talk to strangers
